汽車模型的各個(gè)部件都是澆鑄出來(lái)的，澆鑄就需要金屬模具。汽車模型廠里會(huì)有專門的車間生產(chǎn)金屬模具。他們根據(jù)石膏的模型，使用機(jī)床加工模具。這個(gè)車間猶如所有的機(jī)械加工廠一樣，一進(jìn)入就會(huì)感到滾滾熱浪，金屬的撞擊聲、旋轉(zhuǎn)的刀具發(fā)出的切削聲不絕于耳。這是一個(gè)讓人不愿意多呆的地方，但是工人們依然默默的在自己的崗位上，為每一個(gè)精美的車模流著汗水。

和真車生產(chǎn)一樣，汽車模型也要先生產(chǎn)零件，再進(jìn)行組裝。一般零件的材料有兩種——合金金屬和塑料。這些零件都是靠一種被香港人稱為“啤機(jī)”的機(jī)器來(lái)生產(chǎn)，不過(guò)它可不是釀造啤酒的機(jī)器，而是塑膠注塑機(jī)和金屬壓鑄機(jī)之類的機(jī)器。鑄出來(lái)的合金件外表會(huì)很粗糙，要經(jīng)過(guò)打磨處理后，才能外表光華。他們發(fā)出略黑的金屬光澤，在陽(yáng)光下很好看。塑料件的加工相對(duì)容易，不需要更多的處理。

汽車模型零件的做工直接影響到整體質(zhì)量，尤其是一些能開啟的部件，例如：車門、行李廂之類，這些零件的尺寸精度要求是很高的，否則在開閉的時(shí)候會(huì)有松動(dòng)現(xiàn)象發(fā)生。另外金屬鍍件的光亮程度，儀表板的粘紙等也很重要。

The workmanship of car model parts directly affects the overall quality, especially for some parts that can be opened, such as car doors, luggage compartments, etc. The dimensional accuracy of these parts is required to be very high, otherwise there will be loosening when opening and closing.
